Mudd is a self-taught artist who first began painting in 1990. He works in oils and pen and ink in motifs or groups of like image or process. The motifs currently active are represented here. In the past, he was also involved in site-specific sculpture projects.

Mudd learned photography in the Army, and has maintained an artistic interest in the medium ever since. He is currently working on four book-style photography projects: “The Gods Depart,” an exploration of the sculpture in Parisian parks; “Portrait of the Artist as a Ghost;” “Because there is Light,” an exploration of accidental light patterns; and “Horizons.”
